Obsession

I suppose I’m obsessed. Which isn’t always a bad thing. It just depends where you are standing I suppose.
The night before, Murph and I went for a shoot here. We wanted to do some long exposure shooting.
As soon as we got here the weather became decidedly unpleasant.
I know you can photograph in pretty crap weather but this was even past that, especially without watersealed cameras.
So the next night, I wasn’t going to go, honest I wasn’t. But it ate at me, like a failed shoot usually does, until I had to go, to go back and have “last nights shoot”. The sky was different, there was a bit of colour, the previous night had been grey. But that’s OK, colour it is.
Anyway, this time I don’t need to go back tomorrow (maybe hehe). I’m quite happy with this one.

Nice and moody Garth

An element of mystery to it, Garth.  WD.

Thank you Michael, Rudi & Morden.

I did look at it as a mono but the colour one seemed to have much more depth.

Regarding going back, I was more commenting about getting the shot that I had envisioned the previous night.

I actually have been flogging this place to death for about 3 or so years. I have been there maybe 30+ times since I got my first digital camera in 2008 and no doubt will continue to go back again and again for exactly the reasons you note.

Garth, I really like this, moody, almost spooky image. In my opinion the long exposure water thing is really used way to often, but sometimes it works, even for a cynic like me.

I do have a mono one of a different angle from the same shoot, I might put that up in a few days.

Thank you Thomas, I know what you mean, I have similar thoughts on HDR sometimes.

I'm lucky Morden, this place is only about 20 minutes away for me.

Atmospheric and moody, you have captured it well, the wispy clouds and milky water look great.

Lovely work Garth.  The colours are lovely and subtle complimenting that silky water flow with the big stopper.

Cheers, Claire
