The process of aging

how many years have they been getting relentlessly pounded by the waves.. ?

Probably my favourite image from a recent dawn shoot at Clifton Beach, Tassie.

I like the rocks Alan. They look a bit like big rice crackers.

Lovely image.....can I ask how you balanced the exposure front to back?

Thanks Bob; sure, i used a Grad ND filter to dampen the sky a little and then fired off a few test exposures to find the right balance of shutter and aperture.. once i had the exposure looking nice it was just a matter of timing the shot to get the wave where i wanted it. Also did some post production work to balance the light and dark areas a little more and tweak the levels.

Thanks for that Alan - you brought it all together nicely.
