Hi Michael, there is a website with the membership form but the website is about to be changed so it might be best to search groups on facebook for Hobart Photographic Society or email Margaret Morgan emmorgan@bigpond.com she is the president and very welcoming.  There are monthly meetings that focus on photographic presentations or talks by eminent photographers as well as excursions to photogenic sites, groups that cover most interests like landscape, macro, monochrome, portraiture etc .  At the moment there is a big facebook presence until the new website is commissioned in a couple of weeks - they are closed groups but once financial you can join in, the discussions are lively, friendly and supportive, we even have a healthy iphonography informal group.  It costs about $40 a year to be a member, less for students.  Hope that helps.
